A weekend in Chicago

Well I got a chance to get away for the weekend. Chicago was the place to go. I really enjoy Chicago. I don't know what it is about the city but I have never had a bad time in Chicago.

Heres a shot from the ferris wheel on Navy Pier.

So I live in Michigan, just north of Detroit. Let me tell you Chicago beats Detroit hands down, I would probably say the North Korea beats Detroit. Well maybe not but it would be close. There is always something to do in Chicago. And there are people, friendly people, everywhere. Well except for these two gentlemen, who decided it would be fun to fight in traffic. :)

Ha ha ha! you would get shot for some shit like that here in Detroit. But these two went to town on each other and then drove off. Got to love being in the right place at the right time.

Street performers really make a city nice.

Got a little booty in the shot too. ha ha ha! Why do dogs walk around with their ass out anyway?

Oh yea what would a trip be without seeing at least one wacko wearing a sign. He even had a bull horn to tell the world of the impening doom. God bless him. I really enjoy this part of humanity, lets me know that everything will be ok.

And of course, the flip side of life. Homeless and broke, the insanity to think that people want to be this way is beyond me. Society has failed in a way....

Then I see the "CHILD LEASH" come on now, even my dog will be good off her leash. Parents stop being lazy with your children. I see this type of parenting and I just see rabid kids foaming at the mouth. "Sit Billy! Stay"..... "Good boy".... "Heres a treat."

The pride of the city, they are everywhere, yet nowhere, at the same time. Trash ninjas, keeping the city clean. The unsung hereos of Chicago. Armed with their booms and trusty dust pans. Ready to "KILL" any and all trash. I would like to extend a hardy and long over due thank you to all those people that keep cities clean.

How would you like to use these porta potties. :)

Jesus! I hope I don't look like such a tourist while I'm on vacation. Well I don't wear my camera around my neck for one, or own a Disney shirt either. ;)

Enjoying the day on Saturday, I spotted this lovely lady doing the same. I swear I walked 40 miles over the week end. Next time I go, I'm taking my pedal bike, just makes more sense to me to bike it everywhere. Fuck all that walking, if you don't have to.

If you have ever wondered what the hell? I did with this group. Now I am not one to judge, but for fuck sake get some sun people. I know nerds ( and I use that term respectfully, as I am a nerd) hide from the daylight, but come on. en'masse the paleness of your skin is just blinding.

Of course I had to go to the Shedd, no trip to Chicago is complete with out seeing....

The Dolphins.

Or the "Bean" Those of you who have been to, or live in, Chicago and have seen it know what I'm talking about. :)

Fantastic Building....

People everywhere....

Cheers to you all, My get away was not long enough. Have a great day to you all.

I love Chicago! My best friend moved there in April, my boyfriend and I went to visit in May. We stayed in Lincoln Park and all I could think was "Oh god, I have to move here". It's so wonderful in the summer too, there are a ton of free and cheap shows and art shows and projects. I love it so much. I can't wait to go back.

Ahhh, sweet home Chicago!! Beautiful pics my friend! Great shot of the bean btw.

Thank you Jonesy. I will have to say that the bean is just odd and cool at the same time. I'm not usually a fan of "fun house" type art. but the bean is so enormous that I always have to see it whenever I have been to Chicago.

It is a great place my friend. Although I hate the airport, they alays cancel my flights when I fly there. So now I drive, its only 4 hours anyway.

The "Bean" is quite awesome It actually called the gateway or some shit like that but it looks like a huge bean. Hence why they call it the bean. ;)
